Our Story is Your Story
Co-ops were built on the concept of working together to help serve their communities better.
That founding principle remains at the heart of Cornerstone Co-op and because our customers are also our owners, that means our priorities are your priorities and our story is your story. The concept of the co-operative business model is simple: it’s run by local people, for local people. Cornerstone Co-op’s history is no different. Beginning in the early 1900s, a group of farmers and neighbours came together to create a co-operative with the intent of making life better for all people in the community. Your co-op has grown an evolved tremendously since that time and we are now proud to serve 30,000+ owners at over 20 locations in 7 different communities.
We are your neighbours. Doing business with your Co-op creates good jobs and economic activity in your community, not in Toronto.
We are part of your hometown and care about the causes that matter to you.
When you join your local Co-op, you’re an owner.
“My family is a member of the Co-op. Profit sharing allows us a chance to earn money back to go towards things we need. The Co-op’s involvement in the community has also impacted me as they have helped us with fundraising for Grad.” -Kelsey Phillips, Owner & Scholarship Recipient, St. Paul
